[Classes 83 (i) and 83 (ii)] Casting composite articles.-Flat bearing blanks, which may, after subdividing if desired, be subsequently bent or otherwise formed into a bearing, are made by embossing, rolling, machining, or otherwise indenting a, sheet of steel, brass &c. to form therein a depression or a series of depressions A singly or in groups, tinning or fluxing, before or after indenting, pouring molten white or other bearing metal into the depressions, passing the sheet under a scraper to remove excess of cast metal, cooling, and then punching or cutting out the coated, depressed portions, as shown at B. If the sheet is thick the indenting operation may partially sever the pieces A from the sheet as shown. |
