The system has timing devices (DAT1-DAT3) for determining measurements of received signals from determination of relative positions of satellites (SAT1-SAT3) e.g. Galileo satellites, where the relative positions of the satellites are determined by an inter-satellite metrology device. A secondary interferometer device is provided with a set of three antennas (ANT21-3, ANT22-3, ANT23-3). A transmission device enables transmission of measurements acquired on the satellites toward a ground base station (SBS). A determining unit determines an absolute position (DPA) of one of the satellites.
