A device 1, adapted for removing frozen matter, comprises a body supporting a handle 3 and a removal tool 5, wherein said body includes a sealable fluid chamber arranged to allow fluid within the chamber to act upon the removal tool. The body may provide a sealable opening 2 for the chamber, wherein the opening 2 is recessed within the handle 3. The fluid within the chamber may change the thermal properties of the removal tool 5, and a heat retention or absorption device, such as a metal or fibre, may be provided within the removal tool 5. The device 1 may include a push-fitted bung 4 tethered to the device 1 to prevent loss. The fluid may be heated water, an exothermic chemical liquid or alternatively heatable granules or beads. The fluid may be heated prior to being placed within the chamber or may be heated after entering the chamber using a microwave oven or by battery power. |
