<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environment capable of performing processing to image data in an image display device even if the image display device and a host apparatus are communicatably connected. <P>SOLUTION: A user instructs the deletion of the image data stored in the image display device by using a host apparatus. The host apparatus requests the image ID of the image displayed on the image display device. The image display device transmits the image ID of the displayed image to the host apparatus. The host apparatus determines whether the received image ID is the image ID to be deleted. When the both is assigned, the host apparatus notifies the start of an operation prohibition period to the image display device, instructs the display of a menu screen and notifies the image ID which is a deletion object. The image display device prohibits the operation of a key and deletes the image data of the image ID notified from the host apparatus out of a non-volatile memory.
