472,990. Indiarubber; moulding by dipping. INTERNATIONAL LATEX PROCESSES, Ltd. April 3, 1936, No. 9860. Convention date, July 19, 1935. [Classes 70 and 87 (ii)] In the manufacture of rubber articles from rubber dispersions, the 'amount of liquid associated with or introduced into a coagulated rubber article is controlled by stretching the article in the presence of a liquid, thereby causing it to imbibe a quantity of the liquid, and thereafter allowing the article to contract to substantially its original size to expel at least a part of the imbibed liquid. The liquids, the amount of which in the rubber is thus controlled, may be coagulants, accelerators, dyes, washing water &c. The article may be stretched in the presence of one liquid and allowed to contract in the presence of another liquid. For example, in the manufacture of rubber thread, a coagulated thread may be stretched while in the coagulating bath, whereby an increased quantity of coagulant is absorbed, and then delivered in the stretched condition, to a second bath and allowed to contract to substantially its original size. In the manufacture of dipped goods, an inflatable form, for instance a glove form 22, may be employed. After the form is coated with a layer of coagulated rubber the form is inflated and deflated while immersed in a coagulating or other bath. Specification 214,615, [Class 70], is referred to.
|
