473,010. Treatment of seeds and growing plants; germinating-appliances. LUND, H. H. B. July 6, 1936, No. 18747. [Class 6 (ii)] A corrugated tray for a soil-less cultivation cabinet, such as described in Specification 472,873, for the germination of seeds and the growth of seedlings has, in addition to apertures formed along the tops of the corrugations to permit of fairly rapid passage of liquid, one or more apertures in the valleys of the corrugations in order that liquid collecting in such valleys may escape slowly therefrom. In the tray shown comprising a framing 1 and a corrugated bottom plate 2, numerous apertures 3 are formed along the tops of the corrugations and one aperture 4 in each valley of the corrugations. The numbers, sizes and spacings of the apertures are given, the arrangement being such that the liquid caught in the corrugations escapes in a time not exceeding three hours. |
