PURPOSE: An image display device and a stereoscopic display system using the same are provided to display a three-dimensional image without generating a residual retardation value. CONSTITUTION: An image display device(100) includes an image panel(110), a first polarizing plate(115), a polarization switching cell(120) and a first quarter wave plate(150). The first polarization plate has a first transmission axis on the image panel. Polarized light switching cell includes ferroelectric liquid crystal on the first polarizing plate and function as a half-wave plate in different direction according to a first voltage. The first quarter wave plate is formed on the polarized light switching cell.
