PURPOSE: A propulsion device for a ship with a curved plate of a propeller blade tip inserted in an internal groove of a duct is provided to improve propulsion efficiency with reduced flow loss by removing a space between the tip of propeller blades and a duct and to prevent erosion by preventing cavitation generating in a relevant space. CONSTITUTION: A propulsion device for a ship with a curved pate of a propeller blade tip inserted in an internal groove of a duct comprises a duct and a propeller(4). A groove(10) is formed on an inner surface(8) of the duct at a predetermined depth. The curved plates(20) are attached at the tip of propeller blades and are completely inserted in the groove. The curved plates are cut at a predetermined length. The curvature of the curved plate is formed same as the curvature of the inner surface of the duct.
