<p>PURPOSE: A random access apparatus in a wireless communication system and method thereof are provided to reduce the occurrence of overhead by acquiring a time alignment value for a plurality of serving cells. CONSTITUTION: A reception unit(1705) receives TAG(time alignment group) configuration information from a BS(base station). The TAG configuration information classifies one or more serving cells included in a terminal to TAG. A transmission unit(1720) transmits a random access preamble to the BS in one reference serving cell of the TAG. The reception unit receives a random access response message including a time forwarding command field from the BS in response to the random access preamble.
