The system has an engagement element (38) guided for displacement to carry along a corrugated cardboard web (1) in a region of a fold. Other engagement elements (39-41) are displaceably guided independently of the former engagement element to carry along the corrugated cardboard web in a region of another fold, which is arranged upstream of the former fold. A stacking device (7) is arranged downstream of a folding device for stacking the corrugated cardboard web, which is folded along the folds to form stacks (58). An independent claim is also included for a method for folding and stacking an endless corrugated cardboard web.
