PURPOSE: An array substrate for liquid crystal display device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to form a storage capacitor along the edge of the pixel region, to improve storage capacity and to prevent light leakage. CONSTITUTION: A first storage electrode(111) includes a lower layer and an upper layer. The first storage electrode is separated from agate and a data line(103) in a pixel region. The lower layer is made of a transparent conductive material of first width. The upper layer is made of a low-resistance metal material of second width which is smaller than the first width. An overlapped part between a pixel electrode and the first storage electrode is formed as a second storage electrode(153). Therefore, the second storage electrode is formed as a storage capacitor and the first storage electrode.
