PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing mucus of snails fed with red ginseng is provided to enable wound healing and skin regeneration and to relieve atopic dermatitis and skin irritation. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a cosmetic composition comprises: a step of feeding snails(Achatina fulica or Helix pomatia species) on feed containing 0.1-30 wt% of red ginseng; a step of collecting mucus from the snails; and a step of adding the snail mucus to the cosmetic composition. The snail mucus contains chondroitin sulfate, allantoin, and glycolic acid. The cosmetic composition is used for skin moisturizing. The cosmetic composition is manufactured in the form of a lotion, gel, water soluble liquid, cream, essence, emulsion of oil-in-water(O/W) and water-in-oil(W/O) types, ointment, makeup base of O/W and W/O types, foundation, skin cover, lipstick, eye shadow, cheek color, and eyebrow pencil.
