The present invention relates to a method of operating a salt filter apparatus, and a salt filter apparatus comprising; a mixing chamber (3) with an outside air feed (1), and a filter (5), and further comprise a dry air feed (4) arranged in a flow direction before the filter (5), and configured for mixing outside air feed and dry air feed to a mixed air feed to thereby reduce the relative humidity to a level at which salt particles in the mixed air feed is present at a phase at which said salt particles can be arrested by the filter. Hereby a significant simplification of the filter is possible, resulting in more reliable and controllable filtration at a lower price of filters.
