The device has an exhaust pipe (105) for discharging exhaust gas (102) to an exhaust line. An injector injects additive in a liquid state into the exhaust pipe. A hose (106) of the exhaust line is provided with a corrugated wall. A mixer (109) i.e. propeller mixer, mixes the additive in the liquid state with the exhaust gas, where the mixer is positioned upstream of the hose in flow direction of the exhaust gas between the injector and the hose. The mixer is provided with strips that deviate the gas flow entering the mixer in direction. An independent claim is also included for a method for mixing an additive in a liquid state in an exhaust gas produced by the internal combustion engine.
