The installation (1) has multiple flexible electroluminescent separately controllable bands (16) realizing an array of luminous fringes, fixed by a wall (2) and arranged such that images of the array of the luminous fringes are reflected or transmitted by a surface of an object (4) to control an array of alternate light and dark fringes extending in directions parallel to and spaced from each other. The wall forms a support. A controlling unit (18) of the bands is programmed to introduce phase shift between the images of the array of the luminous fringes projected on the object surface.
