PURPOSE: A method and a system for providing an advanced address book function in a universal plug and play home network environment and a storage medium thereof are provided to update a contact entry in a local address book of a telephony server based on a network address book identifier. CONSTITUTION: A system(100) comprises TCPs(102A-N), a telephony server(104), and wide area network(WAN) servers(106A-N). The telephony server includes an NAB management module(108) and a local address book(110). The WAN servers include network address books(116A-N) related to one or more TCPs. The TCPs are connected to a telephony server through an UPnP(universal plug and play) home network(112). The telephony server is connected to the WAN servers through a WAN.
