<p>The method involves fixing belt-finishing pads (4, 5) against a cylindrical bearing surface (6), where each of the pads includes a convex surface (9) supporting abrasive clothes (7, 8), while imposing a periodic rotational movement between the pads and the bearing surface. Belt-finishing pressure is applied on the bearing surface using the pads over a rotational period, where the pressure is high in two end regions joining cylindrical axial ends of the bearing surface than in a central portion of the bearing surface extending axially between the end regions. An independent claim is also included for a belt-finishing pad.</p> |
