<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus that can display, for example, an external font dynamically defined by DRCS included in caption data of moving image data, even after converting the external font into Timed Text format specified in 3GPP TS 26.234. <P>SOLUTION: According to this embodiment, the information processing apparatus is provided with reception means, character information conversion means, and transmission means. The reception means receives moving image data and first character information relating to the moving image data. The character information conversion means converts the first character information relating to the moving image data to second character information which can be displayed by an external apparatus being the transmission destination of the moving image data.
