The absorbent article (1) comprises a top sheet (10), a backing sheet (20), and an absorbent (30), and a liquid-permeable upper layer sheet (70) is bonded to the skin-contacting surface of the top sheet. The upper layer sheet is disposed along the center of the width direction (W) of the absorbent article in the longitudinal direction. Unbonded areas (S1) that are not bonded to the top sheet are provided at both edges of the upper layer sheet in the width direction. A compressed part (80), in which at least the top sheet and the absorbent are compressed in the thickness direction, is formed around the unbonded areas.
