The invention relates to a method for decontamination of arsenic-containing water and to the use of the resulting spent material for making decorative ceramic glazes. According to the invention, the method consists in treating water having a content of 10...700 μg/l As (III) with sludge dried at a temperature of 200°C, having a content of 33% iron, calcium oxide and sodium and a specific surface of 50.5 m/g, as an absorbent material, wherefrom there results an iron-based spent material having a content of 0.01...0.2% As (III). The said spent material is then fixed into vitreous matrices for decorative ceramic glazes. |
