<p>A spray assembly includes a power source, a motion control mechanism such as a cam box, and at least one spray head structured to apply a coating to a plurality of can ends. Each spray head includes a mounting member, a pivot member, a gun assembly including a plurality of spray guns, and a transfer mechanism for transferring a predetermined motion induced by the cam box from the cam box to the pivot member. Each of the spray guns applies the coating to the can ends in accordance with the predetermined motion. Preferably the predetermined motion as an oscillating motion transferred to the pivot member by belts, thereby oscillating the spray guns. The spray assembly may include a plurality of spray heads, wherein can ends of the same or different sizes are transferred in lanes to a corresponding one of the spray heads.</p> |
