PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail system which can ensure that a user can know the contents of e-mail that was sent to the user but not successfully delivered to the user.

SOLUTION: An e-mail transmission unit (220) transmits an e-mail sent to a user's alternative mail address to a user's actual mail address after setting a predetermined notification destination as a notification destination for use when the e-mail is not successfully delivered. When a notification which indicates that an e-mail transmitted to the user's actual address is not successfully delivered is received at the predetermined notification destination, a non-delivered mail data saving unit (230) causes a non-delivered mail data storage unit (410) to store non-delivered mail data indicating the e-mail which was not successfully delivered. A non-delivered mail data transmission unit (110) transmits the non-delivered mail data indicating the e-mail which was transmitted to the user's actual mail address and was not successfully delivered, to a terminal device used by the user.
