<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accommodate the addition of variables, which cannot be accommodated in a spare area, without stopping a PLC. <P>SOLUTION: Memory of one block is assigned for each instance. Within the one block, variables, a spare area, and an additional variable storage destination address are assigned. When addition of variables which cannot be accommodated in the spare area, an additional block (additional variable storage area) is reserved to assign the additional variables and the starting address of the additional block is stored at the additional variable storage destination address.
