<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic sensor that has an angle of beam spread according to use by changing the structure of a housing. <P>SOLUTION: An ultrasonic sensor includes: a housing 2 having a base wall 21 and a peripheral wall 22 surrounding the base wall; and a piezoelectric element 3 disposed in the housing 2. The base wall 21 defines an internal space 20 together with the peripheral wall 22, and has an inner surface 211 that faces the internal space 20, and an outer surface 212. The inner surface 211 includes: a first divided surface 213; a second divided surface 214 disposed between the first divided surface 213 and the peripheral surface 22; and a connection surface 215 that connects the first divided surface 213 and the second divided surface 214. A distance between the second divided surface 214 and the outer surface 212 is longer than a distance between the first divided surface 213 and the outer surface 212, thereby allowing the first divided surface 213 and the connection surface 215 to define a recess 210.
