<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which enables a prohibited specific operation to be compulsorily prohibited, considering a possibility that a user may not be aware that he/she is in a light-emitting prohibition area to carelessly use a light-emitting function of the camera. <P>SOLUTION: The camera has a receiving unit (108) for receiving signals that are sent from an external device to prohibit a specific operation and prohibits the specific operation according to the signals.
