A heat-pump, screw-compression, multi-connected central air conditioner comprises at least one compressor (1), multiple indoor units (45) connected in parallel, a liquid receiver (43), a gas-oil separator (22) and at least two condenser components (33). A main refrigerant supply pipe is disposed between the indoor unit (45) and the liquid receiver (43). A main refrigerant supply solenoid valve (44) is disposed on the main refrigerant supply pipe. A connecting pipe is disposed between the gas-oil separator (22) and the condenser component (33). A hot gas bypass valve and a reversing valve are disposed on the connecting pipe. A diversion pipe is disposed between the liquid receiver (43) and the condenser component (33). The central air conditioner can implement a large-scale multi-connected air-conditioning unit of a high refrigeration capacity while being unsusceptible to an oil balance risk among modules of a modular air conditioner. The main refrigerant supply solenoid valve is used to cut off the main refrigerant supply pipe when the unit is switched off, thereby preventing liquid slugging occurring when a large amount of liquid refrigerant returns to a gas return inlet of the compressor being switched on a next time. The at least two condenser components perform defrosting alternately to ensure that the unit stays in a heating operation mode, so as to avoid the defect that a heating effect stops due to switching of normal operation modes of an air conditioner and even cold air is blown.
