<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that is configured to erect an operation unit to be directed to an operator of an operation screen, has the operation unit reduced in thickness, and suppresses slip of the operation unit against other components. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 is capable of drawing an operation unit 11 toward an operator and rotating an operation screen 102 to be directed to the operator at a position where the operation unit 11 has been drawn. The image forming apparatus 1 comprises a slide and hinge mechanism 300 that supports the operation unit movably in a direction to be drawn and a direction to be rotated, the slide and hinge mechanism 300 including protrusions 307 and 308 provided at both ends of the operation unit and on the apparatus body side; and a tabular cam member 301 that is fixed at both ends of the operation unit and has grooves 301a and 301b formed thereon, which regulate the direction of movement of the operation unit in the direction to be drawn and the direction to be rotated by the protrusions move through the grooves. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
