<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic information providing system capable of surely providing information on the existence of a pedestrian to a driver of a vehicle even at an intersection with poor visibility. <P>SOLUTION: The traffic information providing system comprises: pedestrian sensors for sensing pedestrians crossing crosswalks 8 placed at an intersection 1; a signal controlling device 13 having a signal controlling circuit 15 for controlling operation of signal light devices 19 placed at the intersection, and a pedestrian information controlling section 18 for outputting pedestrian information when pedestrian image sensors 9 sense the pedestrians in a situation where the signal light devices 19 for pedestrians are controlled to blink red or green light by the signal controlling circuit 15; and pedestrian information providing means for providing the pedestrian information to the vehicle on the basis of the pedestrian information transmitted from the pedestrian information controlling section 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
