METHOD OF MANUFACTURING GLASS OPTICAL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing mold press lens having high optical performance by preventing the appearance defect of the optical device comprising a high temperature vitreous material having ≥550°C Tg.

SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the glass optical device includes obtaining the optical device by annealing the press molded product obtained by press molding a glass base material having a core part comprising optical glass (first glass) having ≥550°C Tg and a covering part covering the surface of the core part and comprising second glass into a lens shape, and removing the covering layer existing on the surface of the press molded product.
