<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nuclear power plant that uses a water pressure control unit to allow decrease in hydrogen gas concentration within a containment vessel without requiring a driving power source or electricity and without introducing new devices. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention provides a nuclear power plant including: a reactor pressure vessel housing a control rod; a reactor containment vessel having the reactor pressure vessel disposed therein; a control rod driving mechanism driving the control rod in the event of an emergency of a reactor; and a water pressure control unit generating water pressure power serving as driving force of the control rod driving mechanism. The water pressure control unit includes: an accumulator connected to the control rod driving mechanism through scram piping; a nitrogen gas container connected to the accumulator through connection piping; and nitrogen gas supply piping connecting the nitrogen gas container and the reactor containment vessel and supplying nitrogen gas within the nitrogen gas container into the reactor containment vessel after emergency shut-down of the reactor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
