The present invention provides a method, device and system for processing a generalized multi-protocol label switching (GMPLS) protocol packet. The method comprises: performing link layer encapsulation on a GMPLS protocol packet to generate a link layer data packet; performing EFM encapsulation on the link layer data packet to generate a first EFM frame; and sending the first EFM frame through an EFM channel. The embodiments of the present invention use the technical means of performing link layer encapsulation and EFM encapsulation on the GMPLS protocol packet to generate the first EFM frame and sending the first EFM frame through the EFM channel, so that the GMPLS protocol packet can be transmitted on an ETH link by using an in-band channel.
