501,880. Babies' comforters. LAMB, J. June 1., 1938, No. 16328. [Class 81 (ii)] A babies' comforter, wherein air is imprisoned in the hollow elastic teat 1, has the teat engaging part of the stem 3 formed with a cylindrical peripheral surface 9 and a cylindrical or tapered surface 7 at its inner end, and between these surfaces an annular slot 8, the width of the slot being between the thickness of the shield 5 and the sum of the thickness of the shield and twice that of the wall of the teat where engaged by the shield. When the teat is mounted on the stem; the elasticity of the teat causes it to extend into the slot, and the edges of the slot are pressed into the material of the teat thus rendering the fit air-tight. The construction described keeps the shield in the correct position under normal strain. A teething ring 4 is provided. |
