<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire for sternum suture which goes around along the sternum outer periphery and can be fastened and fixed to the sternum by stable fastening force without causing play or slackness by stretching force acting along the longitudinal direction. <P>SOLUTION: The wire 1 for sternum suture is used for closing the incised sternum 5 after operation. A wire body 2 where single filaments are braided into a string is braided so that the filaments run diagonally, not along the longitudinal direction, and at least in a part of the wire body 2, an elastic widened portion 2a forming a coating layer on the surface of the filament in the state that the wire body 2 is widened to elastically maintain the widening state. At the time of suture, the filaments is stretched in a straight line shape along the longitudinal direction, and thus, the wire body 2 is stretched, an elastic widened portion 2a is linearly elastically deformed, and by repulsive force of the elastic widened portion 2a elastically deformed, stretching property is given to the wire body 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
