<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for classifying/counting leukocytes capable of classifying and counting normal leukocytes and discriminating blasts from atypical lymphocytes, or a leukocyte classification reagent kit and a leukocyte classification reagent enabling the method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for classifying/counting leukocytes includes the steps of: mixing a biological specimen, a first reagent for staining nucleic acid, cationic surfactant and nonionic surfactant for causing such damage as hemolyzing erythrocytes and making fluorochromes penetrate through cell membranes of the leukocytes, and a second reagent including aromatic organic acid with concentration of 20 mM or more and 50 mM or less, and preparing a measurement sample; applying light to the prepared measurement sample, and obtaining scattered light information and fluorescence information generated then; and classifying the leukocytes in the biological specimen on the basis of the scattered light and fluorescence information and detecting while discriminating the blasts from the atypical lymphocytes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
