This manual transmission is equipped with a "connection switching mechanism (M2)" for changing the connection state between the output shaft (Am) of an electric motor (M/G) and the output shaft (Ao) of a transmission (M/T) according to a gear position established by a driver's shift lever operation. When a low speed drive gear position (EV) is established, a power transmission system is established between the output shafts (Ao, Am) and an electric motor speed reduction ratio (ratio of the rotational speed of the output shaft (Am) to the rotational speed of the output shaft (Ao)) is set to a first speed reduction ratio (> 1). When a medium speed drive gear position (2nd speed to 4th speed) is established, the power transmission system is established between the output shafts (Ao, Am) and the electric motor speed reduction ratio is set to a second speed reduction ratio (= 1). When a high speed drive gear position (5th speed) is established, the power transmission system is not established between the output shafts (Ao, Am). This makes it possible to provide an HV-MT vehicle manual transmission in which the size of an electric motor can be reduced and the heat generation of the electric motor attributable to the high-speed rotation of the electric motor can be prevented. |
