Provided are a decoding method and a decoding apparatus for a short distance intra prediction unit. A first prediction unit is further partitioned into a plurality of second prediction units, and an intra prediction mode for each of the second prediction units is determined using an intra prediction mode mapping table, which is reordered on the basis of forms of the second prediction units. Prediction blocks for the second prediction units are generated on the basis of intra prediction modes for the determined second prediction units. The present invention improves the effectiveness of intra prediction and reduces the number of transmitted bits. |
