The ultrasound diagnostic apparatus of an embodiment is equipped with a monitor (2), an image-generating unit (15), an acquisition device (4), a rendering unit (16), and a control unit (18). The monitor (2) displays parallax images and displays stereoscopic images that can be perceived three-dimensionally by an observer. The image-generating unit (15) generates ultrasound images on the basis of reflected waves received by an ultrasound probe (1) that is in contact with the body surface of a subject (P). The acquisition device (4) acquires three-dimensional position information for the ultrasound probe (1) during imaging. The rendering unit (16) generates probe images, which are parallax images for the ultrasound probe (1) to be virtually perceived as a stereoscopic image, from the three-dimensional position information. The control unit (18) performs control so that characteristic images, which represent characteristics of the imaging conditions, and the probe images are displayed on the monitor (2) positioned relative to each other on the basis of the three-dimensional position information.
