<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treatment of skeletal disturbance and immune disorder by adjusting MDL-1 activity. <P>SOLUTION: This is a method for adjusting bone resorption in a subject, based on such a finding that an action antagonizing MDL-1 activity has controlled bone invasion and inflammation. This method includes the administration to the subject of an effective amount of an antibody or its fragment specifically linking with MDL-1. In one embodiment, the antibody is a humanized one, purely human one, or chimera. The antibody fragment is Fab, Fab2 or Fv one. The antibody or the antibody fragment can conjugate other chemical moieties containing polyethylene glycol (PEG). The antibody or the antibody fragment controls also the bone resorption caused by inflammation.
