<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of diagnosing a disease or disorder comprising measuring the level of albumin-bound protein/peptide complex(es) (ABPPC). <P>SOLUTION: A method comprises the steps of screening serum ABPPCs in a population of patients having a specific disease or disorder (myocardial ischemia, myocardial infarction, or vasculitis), and comparing the ABPPCs thus identified with the ABPPCs in a normal subject population. The biomarkers can be detected using, for example, a protein assay, a binding assay, or an immunoassay. The biomarkers may also be identified as peaks using mass spectroscopy, or as gel bands using, for example, size exclusion chromatography, optionally after appropriate initial treatment of the sample. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
