<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To narrow a leakage magnetic field detection part of a reproduction head using a spin accumulation effect. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic head has a structure formed by laminating a magnetic conductive layer 4 to be a free layer and a magnetic conductive layer 5 to be a fixed layer on a nonmagnetic conductive layer 1 via barrier layers 2 and 3. Magnetization of the magnetic conductive layer 5 is fixed by an antiferromagnetic conductive layer 6. A conductive magnetic shield 12 is electrically connected to the nonmagnetic conductive layer 1 via a contact 11. An electric current is applied from a first conductive magnetic shield to a second conductive magnetic shield 13. The nonmagnetic conductive layer 1, the barrier layers 2 and 3, and the magnetic conductive layer 5 are exposed on a recording medium opposite face, which are configured to be held by the conductive magnetic shields 12 and 14. The conductive magnetic shields 12 and 14 are connected to the magnetic conductive layer 5 and are voltage terminals for detecting potential of the magnetic conductive layer 5.
