<p>In the present invention, a VAR compensator comprises a voltage detection circuit that detects voltage fluctuations in a power distribution system and, on the basis of an output signal from the voltage detection circuit, provides voltage stabilisation of the power distribution system by controlling the reactive power going into the power distribution system. The voltage detection circuit comprises the following: a three-phase amplitude computing circuit that computes the amplitude of each three-phase voltage in the power distribution system; and a maximum deviation intermediate value computing circuit that, on the basis of a signal from the three-phase amplitude computing circuit, computes the intermediate value between the voltage value of the maximum phase and the voltage value of the minimum phase out of the three-phase voltages.</p> |
