<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thin slice of a sample by using a microtome while guaranteeing high quality of the manufactured thin slice. <P>SOLUTION: A camera 24 obtains at least one image on a surface manufactured by slicing a sample 16. With support of an evaluation device, an image on the surface is evaluated on the basis of a featured value of predefined slice quality.
