<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a consciousness deterioration determining device capable of highly accurately determining a consciousness deteriorated state of a driver by appropriately calculating and setting a normal-time steering quantity and preventing mixing of a disturbance and a steering quantity in the consciousness deteriorated state when determining a consciousness deterioration of the driver. <P>SOLUTION: The consciousness deterioration determining device includes: a normal steering quantity calculating section 51 for calculating, as a normal steering quantity, a steering angle dispersion when an index indicative of a state of a vehicle or a driver is a predetermined value or less in a latest given time until the driver performs a steering operation; a steering deviation degree calculating section 55 for calculating a deviation degree of the steering quantity of the driver from the normal steering quantity; a steering deviation degree determining section 56 for determining whether or not a steering deviation degree is a predetermined value or more; and a consciousness deterioration determining section 57 for determining that the driver is in the consciousness deteriorated state when the steering deviation degree is a predetermined value or more. This device can reduce an erroneous detection and non-detection of a drowsy driving by preventing the mixing of a disturbance and a steering quantity in the consciousness deteriorated state, in the normal-time steering quantity so as to highly accurately determine the consciousness deterioration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
