A compressor (50) is disposed at a position surrounded by the heat exchanging surfaces of an outdoor heat exchanger (30). An opening (3a) spanning from an intermediate section of one heat exchanging surface to an end section thereof is formed in the outdoor heat exchanger (30), and closing valves (55, 56) are disposed in the opening (3a). The dimensions of a service access opening (3b) formed between the opening end surface of the outdoor heat exchanger (30) and the closing valves (55, 56) are set to the dimensions required for removing the compressor (50). Thus, maintenance can be easily performed on the compressor and the like in this outdoor unit for a refrigeration device having a configuration in which the outdoor heat exchanger (30) is disposed along a plurality of side surfaces of a casing.
