<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing mechanism, a printing apparatus and a printing method which can reduce an spacing of a pair of printing patterns adjoining each other with regard to a plurality of printing patterns printed on a long base material, thereby achieve an effective imposition on the long base material, and improve a printing efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In a printing surface plate 34, there is formed a passage 42 for the long base material S to be intermittently carried to pass through.
