<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform communication with the optimal number of redundant packets for each destination by simple processing. <P>SOLUTION: A communication device includes: a communication unit for performing communication with a partner device via a network using UDP as a transport; a storage unit for storing address information of each partner device and the number of redundant packets in UDP communication by associating it with the address information. The storage unit, after completion of communication, updates the number of redundant packets for a partner device with which the communication has been finished in the increment direction if there has been an error in the communication with the partner device with which the communication has been finished, and updates the number of redundant packets of a partner device with which the communication has been finished in the reduction direction if there has been no error.
