<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an old cat or dog from mewing or barking at night. <P>SOLUTION: There is disclosed an agent of preventing mewing or barking at night of a cat or dog, which includes ferulic acid and an extract from a garden angelica as active ingredients. Ferulic acid is a species of polyphenols and is contained in rice bran. Ferulic acid exhibits an antioxidant action and is effective in treating dementia. Ferulic acid subsumed by γ-cyclodextrin is preferable from view of absorption.
