The container (1) has a vessel wall (4) made of shape memory polymer, where the container exhibits capacity volumes in switching states of the shape memory polymer. One of the capacity volumes is less than the other capacity volume. One switching state of the shape memory polymer is adjusted by an external stimulus (15), a signal, electromagnetic radiation, microwave radiation, power, temperature increase, pH-value-change, infrared radiation, visible UV light, alternating electric field, alternating magnetic field, a radio frequency signal and direct- and/or alternating current voltage. The container is provided with a label as a radio frequency identification tag. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for minimizing storage and transportation cost for disposable and reusable packages (2) a device for returning an empty liquid container.
