The vehicle has a bumper unit (1) with an impact element (1.1), which comprises a detecting unit (3) e.g. hose sensor system and pressure sensor, for detecting pedestrian impact at the bumper unit. A surface of an aperture of a groove (N) and surfaces of the impact element extending towards a bending cross beam (2) together have an area less than the cross-section area of the impact element. The groove is formed toward the cross beam by web-like formations (1.1.1-1.1.3), where depth of the formations corresponds to dimensions of the groove.
