The gear has a differential cage (6) driven by a bevel gear tooth system (3). The cage drives two output shafts (15, 16) with a variable rotational speed. Two intermediate wheels (4, 5) rotate opposite to each other and are driven by the bevel gear tooth system. The differential cage is selectively coupled with the intermediate wheels by a sliding sleeve (10). A rotational axis of the intermediate wheels is identical with a rotational axis of the differential cage. The intermediate wheels project above the cage in a radial direction relative to a rotational axis (Ra) of the output shafts.
